When A Medical Referral Will Be Recommended

While many hearing concerns can be successfully addressed through hearing healthcare and hearing technology, certain symptoms require additional medical evaluation. If you experience a sudden loss of hearing, hearing loss in only one ear, persistent ringing in the ears (tinnitus), dizziness, vertigo, balance difficulties, ear pain, drainage, or any rapid change in your hearing, a referral to an ENT will be recommended.

These symptoms may indicate an underlying medical condition that requires further diagnosis and treatment. If cognitive decline is detected, this will be reported to the families MD for further evaulation.

We offer diagnostics for device issues and work extensively on the vast majority of hearing aids on the market. Though some hearing aid repairs, due to their design and technology, must be sent to the manufacturer for certain repairs and to be reprogrammed. However, we can do most repairs in our on location, in office labs.
